Safety & AI
Last updated: June 2026
Proof Academy uses technology to support revision, feedback and progress tracking. This page explains how AI fits into the platform, what students should and should not submit, and where parents or guardians can help.
What Proof Academy is
- A study and exam-preparation platform for GCSE and A-Level learners.
- A place to practise topics, review mistakes, receive feedback and track progress.
- A support tool for students and parents; not a replacement for school teaching, official exam-board materials or professional advice.
Student data minimisation
Proof Academy does not ask for unnecessary student personal information. The platform needs basic account details, course access records, and learning-performance metrics to provide the service. Performance data is used to power ProofCoach progress tracking, feedback, and repair-path recommendations.
- Needed: account email, course access, quiz attempts, marks, submitted work, topic progress and feedback history.
- Not needed: bank details, government ID, broad demographic profiles, private school records outside the work submitted to Proof Academy, or unrelated personal information.
Payments and billing
Proof Academy does not directly collect or store card numbers or bank details. Payments, subscriptions, billing details, and financial information are processed securely by Stripe. Proof Academy stores only the payment and entitlement information required to manage course access, subscriptions, invoices, and account status.
How AI is used
- ProofCoach uses learning-performance data to identify weak areas, suggest repair paths and prioritise practice.
- AI MCQs and long-answer feedback are designed to support revision and improve student thinking; they should not be treated as final exam-board marks.
- Students should review feedback critically and use it alongside teacher guidance, mark schemes and official course material.
- Students should not include phone numbers, home addresses, medical details, passwords or other unnecessary personal information in answers or messages.
Safeguarding and wellbeing
Proof Academy is not an emergency, counselling or safeguarding-reporting service. Students should speak to a trusted adult, school safeguarding lead or emergency service if they are worried about immediate harm, abuse, self-harm or another serious risk.
If a support message or submitted content appears to raise a serious safety concern, we may take reasonable action to protect the student or platform. This may include limiting account features, preserving relevant records, or contacting the account holder where appropriate.
Parents and guardians
Parents or guardians should help younger learners set up accounts, understand paid plans, avoid sharing unnecessary personal information, and use AI feedback as revision support rather than as a final judgement. Billing and deletion questions should be sent from the account email where possible.
Quality controls
- Standard topic quizzes are stored content and should contain 12 MCQs per topic.
- AI MCQ practice is capped at 20 questions per topic per month for paying students, with stored sets available for retakes.
- AI outputs may be limited, paused, reviewed or regenerated if quality, safety or reliability is not good enough.
Account controls
Signed-in users can change their password, manage Stripe billing, request account deletion and read the privacy policy from the dashboard account area. Deletion requests are reviewed so active subscriptions and submitted learning records are handled carefully.
